Do you have any tips for someone who wants to start playing the guitar?

Practice, practice, practice! YouTube and the internet are great resources to start with. I began by simply playing other people's arrangements. Eventually, after a lot of practice, I was able to transition into creating my own arrangements. I also recommend mastering the basics first (e.g. basic chord shapes and melodies) so that you will have a good fundamental background going into finger-style guitar. Be patient, and definitely play songs that YOU like! Goodluck! (:
